Licensed to Sell

I'm happy to annouce that I am now a licensed retailer of Kirstikoo Designs. Remember a couple weeks ago about the diaper clutch I made using Kirstikoo's pattern? Well I can now sell the item in my shop! I'm really excited about this. After I made the clutch for my friend a few ladies at the baby shower said that they wanted one. :) I will be adding some new items in shop soon!

AZ Girls Night Out

I'm a little late in posting about this but last Friday I had the opportunity to attend AZ Girls Night Out and had a blast!! I met some fun and creative ladies, even the ones I blog stalk, hehe. Everything was decked out super cute, but you wouldn't expect anything less from some creative ladies. The table that I sat at consisted of Nicki Hanger from the Hanger House, Autumn Jo from Autumn Jo's personalized drink umbrellas, super cute by the way, and Laura Winslow from Laura Winslow Photography. Such fun ladies, we had a lot of laughs, if your reading this ladies, Candle Cupcakes Rock!! haha

From left to right: Autumn, Laura and Nicki

The event was held at Sweet Cakes Cafe in downtown Mesa. Such a cute little place. We had a fantastic dinner provided by Sweet Cakes. But the event wouldn't have been the success it was without the creative hostesses behind it. Thanks to Kristyn from Lil Luna, Kendra from My Insanity and Stephanie from Somewhat Simple. There was also special guests, such as Laura Winslow herself and the ladies from Tom Kat Studio

I had a blast and here are few photos that I captured from the night.

Super yummy cupcakes by Joanna from Baked by Joanna.

The girls! See that awesome conversation bubble chalkboard? I won those in the drawing, yup there were 2 of them! I have yet to figure out where I will be putting those babies.

It was such a fun night! I can't wait for the next one!!

Food Storage 5

I think that I'm on a roll here. :) Next up is Water Storage. I found all sorts of information regarding this and impressed with most of it. I've started storing water and labling them with the month I did it. I use the Hawaiian Punch bottles since they are larger than milk and soda containers. I store them at the bottom of my small pantry although it's starting to get full down there.

Here are some links to home water storage.

Recipe of the Week: Oreo Bon Bons

On Sunday I decided to make a fun treat for the ladies I visit teach at church so I made Oreo Bon bons. These are the best way to get your chocolate and oreo fix all in one! The recipe is so simple that I had to share it with you.

Ingredients:
1 8 oz pkg cream cheese, softened
1 pkg oreo cookies
2 pkgs milk chocolate chips

Directions:
1 Use food processor to grind up the oreo cookies including the cream middle.
2 Add in softened cream cheese, then roll into balls and put into fridge until firm.
3 In double boiler melt chocolate chips, then dip the oreo balls into chocolate and place on cookie sheet. Put back into fridge to cool and harden. Store in air tight container in the fridge or enjoy the chocolatey goodness!!

Linking up to Lil' Luna,

Food Storage 4

If you are hesistant about canning or dehydrating your own foods, you can always order from sites that already have done the work for you. I will warn that not all are inexpensive as home preservation but are convenient if you don't have the time. I found a few sites that you can explore and see what will best fit your needs.

Shelf Reliance - I saw a commercial on the BYU channel just after Conference a few months ago, they have a lot of good things.

My Food Storage Chef - I saw an add on Facebook and ordered a sample, can't wait to see what I get to try it out!

Provident Living - this is the LDS Church sponsorsed website to become self reliant. It has tons of good info.

You can also order from your ward canning specialist and volunteer at the local cannery in your area for items you need.

Fun Friday: Diaper Clutch

A couple months ago I purchased a pattern from my friend Kirsti over at Kirstikoo of her Diaperdoo Diaper Clutch. Well I have put it to use. I will be attending a baby shower for a friend of mine and thought that this would be the perfect gift for her. I am all about giving items to new moms that they will use instead of clothes.

So I rummaged through my fabric bin and found these pieces.

The pattern called for velcro but didn't have any on hand but I did have these magnet closures.

The inside once it is all done.

Folded in half.

Completely closed.

I was suprised at how easy this pattern was. It only took me an hour from start to finish.

Food Storage 3

This is a continuance of the supplemental items for your food storage. I wanted to touch on the dehydration process. I'm really excited to try this out this year. We got my MIL a dehydrator for Christmas, which she was totally excited about, no joke. We have been thinking of items we could do such as banana chips and even beef jerky, yum! I've been on the look out for sales on meat, haven't seen anything good yet, maybe we need to hit up Costco. Anyways here are a few how tos on dehydration.

Meats - I found this really useful link on how to prep the meats and even a recipe or two for the seasonings. (Click on the word meats for the link)

Fruits - Pick the fruits that you and your family will enjoy and that are in season and go from there. These will make yummy, healthy snacks for your food storage. (I found a really helpful chart on different kinds of fruits and how to prep them, just click on fruits)

Veggies - I found that drying veggies is lot easier.

Items that you may need to start this process:
- dehydrator, oven, or the sun
- vacuum seal bags
- air tight containers

** for more info go to this website**

Have fun and try out different things.
