Recipe: Ice Cream Cupcakes

A couple weeks ago at work we had a Cup Cakes War for our United Way Campaign for the month and I particiapted. The receipe I choose I found on Pinterest here and was inspired by this. It is an Oreo cake batter that is to die for! Unfortunately I didn't win but came close. It was favorite amongst the judges. I wanted to share with you how I went about making these Ice Cream Cupcakes.

To hold up the cones I cut up an aluminum baking pan, laid it flat on top of my muffin pan and then cut holes on top of each muffin slot.

Next I filled up the cones with my batter. (I followed the recipe's directions)

This is how they came out. It raised just enough to be able to frost them.

The final product!

I'm a Mormon

I know this isn't a craft or recipe but I wanted to share a little bit of who I am.

Our church leaders have challenged each one of us to create a profile on the website. This is so that the missionaries can help investigators relate better to other members of the church and to see that we are just like them. I took up the challenge and created my profile. At first I wasn't sure what I would say but they gave us a few tips to help us out and I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to write as much as I did.

If you would like read my profile go HERE.

This is a really neat website will all kinds of inspiring stories from other church members.

Guest: Redheaded Crafter

Today I'm exctiting to introduce to you Amy from Red Headed Crafter. I love reading her blog! She is always creating new cards and or anything that she can using her Cricut. I will now turn the time over to her!

Hello! I am a wife, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, "mom" to my two little pups, etc.... I have been crafting for quite some time now... My mom is very "crafty" and she would do crafts with me and my sister when were kids. We would paint Christmas ornaments, draw, and all kinds of other fun stuff!

I bought my Cricut Expression in 2009, and I have been so impressed with how this machine has helped me in so many ways!!!! It has been able to breathe new life into this hobby, and I am pretty much addicted to it (I use it on almost every project)! I also enjoy using my Gypsy and Cuttlebug. My favorite thing to make is cards, but I try to make something different every now and then. :) Other than crafting, I enjoy baking, reading, gardening, etc...

When I am not at home (or hanging out with friends and family), I am at work as a first grade teacher. I love teaching! I started teaching Kindergarten at age 23, and I taught there for 2 years. For the last 4 years I have been teaching first grade, and I LOVE it! Even as a kid I knew I wanted to be a teacher. My sister and I would "play school" and pretend we were teachers. The funny thing is that now we are both teachers, and we teach at the same school!!!! It's so much fun!

I created my blog , Redheaded Crafter, as a place to post pictures of my "stuff" and I hope that someone out there will be inspired to blow the dust off of their crafting supplies and get started! ;) Who knows, after a while I will probably start doing some giveaways, challenges, etc. Hope to meet some of you soon! :)

Thanks Amy for sharing a little bit about yourself. Be sure to visit her blog for some cute ideas and to see a list of her favorite paper crafting supplies!

Tip of the Week

Before my most recent grocery trip I was noticing that my linen closet, which also holds our shampoos and other hygiene products, was starting to look a little bit cluttered. So I had a thought as to how to organize my growing supply, why not use a hanging shoe organizer?

So that's what I got and it's perfect for holding all of those little things that can get lost or forgotten. Now I will be able to find things better and the bigger things won't hide all of the little items. :)

How do you keep your things organized?
