Tip and Deals of the Day

I thought that since I'm sewing a dress that I would show you some tricks to making the process easier. Today's tip is smoothing out your pattern pieces. This is a very useful tip that will help anyone create a really nice outfit. I will be honest through I always skipped this step of the process becuase I would just be too excited to get started on the project. But since I will be using some really nice fabric for this dress I thought that I would take my time and do it carefully.
First you want to set your iron on a low setting, I set mine on the 2. Then while it was heating up I cut out my pieces. Once all my pieces were cut I carefully and slowly ironed out the creases because you don't want to burn the paper. By doing this it will allow the pattern to lay flat as you pin and cut out your fabric pieces.

Here is the sleeve piece all ironed out. You can't see in this picture but it is laying flat against the ironing board. You can still see where it originally folded but it is flat. Now you are ready to start pinning to your fabric.
