Now that school is full swing I wanted to share some lunch time tips courtesy of Wal-Mart.
Lunch Solutions on a Budget
I know my son, although he isn't a picky eater, love a variety of things to eat. In fact everytime I go grocery shopping I take him along so that he can pick out what he would like to eat for lunch at school. I know some of you have more than one kid, but you could probably rotate who chooses the lunch items.
Some ideas that are not on the Wal-Mart list that I do I have listed below.
- Spread peanut butter and jelly on a whole wheat taco style tortilla, (I made this up when I ran out of bread one day and my son LOVES it!)
- freeze the kid friendly yogurts from Yoplait or Dannon, they defrost by lunch
- Wal-Mart has prepackaged fruits and veggies w/ their own dipping sauces, I also like to get the bag of precut apples and get a package of the reduced sugar carmel dipping sauces
- of course there are the lunchables, I like to get a few to mix things up
I hope these tips help! Tell me what you do for lunch! :)
